The Trainee Chemical Disposals Technician will be responsible for executing production or disposal plans aligned with the Master Production Schedule or Burning Ground schedule (OTOCOQ). The role emphasizes safe operations, task execution under supervision, coordination, supporting quality assurance, process optimization, and documentation preparation, all in a safe and efficient manner.
You should possess experience and knowledge that optimize process utilization and maximize daily productivity. Monitoring team performance via KPIs & PSPI, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency to meet customer and business needs, is essential.
Responsibilities
1. Promote zero harm by adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies (SWIM) to ensure staff and visitor safety.
2. Utilize safe working methods across all processes to aim for zero harm.
3. Support updates to Risk and COSHH assessments with technical support and line management.
4. Assist in maintaining SHE Plan returns and safety records promptly.
5. Keep personal training current to perform duties effectively.
6. Manage own time efficiently, balancing direct work and business demands.
7. Follow manufacturing processes consistently.
8. Assist in resolving manufacturing issues, input data into systems like Shire and Dynamic, and manage permits to work.
9. Contribute to daily task planning, collaborating with Materials Planning and Logistics for efficiency.
10. Ensure accurate adherence to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and maintain data integrity.
11. Comply with production standards, TPM, and site regulations.
12. Promote 6S and Lean methodologies through training and coaching to maintain an organized workspace.
13. Support QRQC and SQCDPI meetings, escalating issues as necessary.
14. Work with Materials Planning to maintain inventory levels and prevent outages, escalating issues when needed.
15. Manage waste segregation, labeling, and storage responsibly.
16. Maintain records and documentation, ensuring audit readiness.
17. Support new product/process implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
18. Participate in dynamic risk assessments and problem solving.
19. Coordinate with stakeholders and communicate effectively across departments.
20. Represent the business in demonstrations, tours, and stakeholder visits.
21. Communicate with local fire services regarding disposals and manage contaminated waste with proper documentation.
22. Perform other duties as required by the business.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Qualifications: 5 GCSEs at level 4 or above (including Maths & English), science qualification preferred or willingness to work towards.
* Experience: Manufacturing environment experience, strong IT skills with Microsoft Office and MRP/MES systems.

* Experience in risk assessments, quality management systems, and leadership roles.
