Job Title: School Cleaner
Location: Sunderland, SR4
Salary: £16.25 per hour
Hours: 3 hours daily, Monday to Friday (3pm-6pm)
Contract Type: Temporary, 15 hours per week, Term Time Only
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and dedicated Cleaner to join our friendly team at a Primary School in Sunderland. You will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out daily cleaning duties across classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas.
* Ensure high standards of hygiene are maintained to support the needs of our pupils.
* Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
* Clean floors, surfaces, and furniture using appropriate equipment and materials.
* Replenish soap, hand towels, and other consumables as required.
* Report any maintenance or health & safety concerns promptly.
* Work effectively both independently and as part of a supportive team.
About You
* Previous cleaning experience in a school or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
* Understanding of health & safety and safe use of cleaning materials.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
* A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for children with SEN.
Additional Information
* This role is term-time only (no holiday working required).
* All staff are required to complete an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.
* Full training and equipment will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
