Support Worker - Farnborough
Would you like a role where you can improve the lives and empower the independence of people in Farnborough? Dimensions, an award-winning, not-for-profit support organisation, is seeking a Support Worker to do just that! The individuals we support, including four gentlemen and one lady, share a supported living home. They are in their 50s and have learning disabilities and autism. They would like to meet Support Workers who share their interests and will support them in doing activities they enjoy, such as:
* Trips to the cinema or local theatres to watch plays
* Going bowling
* Listening to music, especially artists like Meat Loaf, Queen, Michael Jackson, Simply Red
* Participating in music sessions at home
* Trips to the shops for clothes and room decorations
* Enjoying cake and coffee outings
* Walking along the seaside
Some of the individuals do not use words to communicate but have different ways of expressing their needs. Don’t worry if you haven't communicated with non-verbal individuals before; Dimensions provides full training for all Support Workers. They are more comfortable using wheelchairs outside but three can walk at home. The role involves a mix of early (7:30-15:00) and late (14:30-22:00) shifts, including one sleep-in shift per week. Support Workers will also assist with finances, meal preparation, and personal care.
Benefits for Support Workers include:
* 30 days annual leave pro rata, with options to buy or sell leave
* £200 bonus for referring a successfully employed friend
* Paid training and funded accredited courses for career development
* Bike to Work scheme and discounts on meals, shopping, entertainment, gym memberships, and mobile tariffs
* A values-driven organisation prioritising people with learning disabilities and their families
* Support for staff well-being through comprehensive strategies and listening networks
* Recognition as a Great Place to Work (2019-2025)
