Position Summary
Junior Sommelier – The St. Regis London, London, United Kingdom — Full Time, Non‑Management.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of wine service, including presenting, opening and serving wines and champagnes.
* Assist guests with wine recommendations, explaining origins, styles and pairings.
* Maintain accurate wine knowledge to confidently answer guest enquiries.
* Support the upkeep and updating of wine lists and beverage systems.
* Assist with inventory management, ensuring stock levels, storage and organisation are maintained.
* Prepare and maintain glassware, equipment and service areas to the highest standards.
* Support team training through participation in tastings and knowledge sharing.
* Assist with cellar organisation, stock rotation and replenishment.
* Ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service and company policies.
* Maintain cleanliness, organisation and presentation across all wine storage and service areas.
* Work collaboratively with service, bar and kitchen teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Core Competencies
* Previous experience in food & beverage service, preferably within a luxury or fine dining environment.
* Basic knowledge of wines, regions and styles, with a strong desire to learn and develop.
* Working towards or holding a recognised wine qualification (e.g., WSET Level 2 or equivalent).
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to presentation and service standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑standards environment.
* A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and support senior team members.
