Role Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for a Wiring Technician within an Electronics European Division. Based in Stafford, you will be part of the Engine Electronic Systems Team responsible for developing and implementing electrical and electronic control systems for powertrains developed by our client in the UK and built around the world. This role involves building and maintaining electrical load boxes for automated test equipment, along with other manual test equipment. The bespoke equipment comprises electrical/electronic modules, harness-related components, sub-systems, and associated mechanical housings. Key Responsibilities: Understanding and applying electrical schematic drawings and pinouts for complex electronic systems. Assembling and mechanically building test boxes to schematic drawings, requiring good mechanical hand skills (e.g., drilling, tapping, using suitable hand tools). Assembling cabling/harnesses to schematic drawings and pinouts (e.g., cutting and crimping terminals, soldering, and assembling connectors). Delivering to need dates on multiple priority projects while following safety procedures. Building collaborative working relationships with peers and internal partners. Utilizing standard PC software packages (Teams, Outlook, MS Office). Additional Skills: Creating technical sketches based on engineers needs. Defining electronic/electrical/mechanical components required for projects. Searching and selecting suitable electrical components for order. Estimating time requirements and planning projects. Identifying, fault finding, and resolving equipment issues using handheld electrical measurement tools (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope). Experience with Visio. Candidates should have: Strong, proven practical electronic equipment assembly capabilities. A technical qualification such as a relevant L3 apprenticeship, HNC, or relevant work experience. Experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical, control systems, or automotive engineering industries. Panel wiring experience. Focus on internal engineers requirements. Ability to follow, develop, and improve local processes. Candidates may also have: Previous technical experience with electronic/electrical products or related production systems. Experience in building electronic/electrical equipment and harnesses.
