Job Overview
We are recruiting a Maintenance Fitter responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production equipment. The goal is to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production. This position offers a Monday to Friday dayshift schedule, providing a great opportunity for those looking to avoid shift work. Overtime hours are paid at a premium rate for over 40 hours worked.
Responsibilities
1. Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facilities.
2. Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs on machinery to reduce downtime.
3. Diagnose faults, resolve issues, and identify root causes.
4. Carry out planned maintenance and contribute to scheduling.
5. Ensure compliance with company HSEQ standards and eliminate risks during maintenance.
6. Record maintenance activities using maintenance software.
7. Promote best practices in maintenance, quality, housekeeping, and H&S.
8. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across all areas of the business.
Requirements
* Level 3 qualified apprenticeship in Engineering or similar.
* Proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong mechanical skills, including welding and fitting.
* Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and motors.
* Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
