An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Registered Mental Health Nurse to a Band 6 Charge Nurse post within Midpark Hospital in Dumfries.
Midpark is the region’s Acute Mental Health Hospital which provides inpatient healthcare for patients with a variety of complex mental health needs across 6 wards.
The main purpose of the role is the responsibility for the clinical leadership within the allocated ward area and nursing team in collaboration and in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse, ensuring safe and effective clinical practice is delivered at all times. The role includes shift working and escort on call duties.
The post holder will be expected to participate in the role of Nominated Hospital Lead for the hospital.
A full induction and learning and development plan will be on offer to the successful candidate.
As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
