About the Role
We are recruiting for a CQC Registered Manager to lead our Residential Service in Lancaster, a specialist provision offering education, care, and independence training for young adults with learning and/or physical disabilities.
Our service is first and foremost an educational establishment regulated by Ofsted, with personal care and accommodation overseen by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This residential service is home to 27 young people aged 18–25, many of whom have profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex medical or cognitive needs.
The Registered Manager will have overall operational responsibility for the service, ensuring the highest standards of care, effective staff leadership, and regulatory compliance. This includes managing Deputy Managers, Team Leaders, and Senior Support Workers to deliver safe, person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery
• Lead and monitor person-centred services to ensure high-quality outcomes for residents.
• Maintain compliance with Ofsted and CQC standards, safeguarding protocols, and health and safety requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day operational excellence within the residential setting.
Staff Leadership and Supervision
• Manage and develop Deputy Managers, Team Leaders, and Senior Support Workers through supervision, coaching, and performance management.
• Support effective recruitment, induction, and ongoing professional development of staff.
• Foster a positive, supportive culture that empowers both staff and residents.
Financial and Operational Management
• Manage service budgets responsibly and deploy staff efficiently.
• Use IT systems to support quality assurance, incident management, training, and reporting.
• Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders to maintain strong partnerships and support referrals.
Quality and Continuous Improvement
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and service improvement.
• Ensure staff training and knowledge remain up to date with best practice and regulatory expectations.
• Drive service development to meet evolving needs and standards.
Essential Requirements
• Proven experience managing within a CQC-registered residential service.
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, PMLD, and complex care needs.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Experience of working within a college or educational care environment (desirable).
