An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) as the Head of Organisational Development in the Organisational Development and Learning (OD&L) team. Reporting to the Associate Director of L&OD, the post holder will develop, lead on and evaluate a programme of organisational development interventions in accordance with the delivery of the Trust strategy, vision, values and desired culture. Notably, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a professional OD consultancy service, an ongoing cycle of obtaining and using staff feedback to drive organisational effectiveness, amongst a series of work programmes relating to organisational culture and performance. As this is a busy and varied role with line management responsibility, the post holder will have exceptional organisation skills, the ability to multitask, prioritise and work to key deadlines. This is a highly visible role with the expectation to champion the OD delivery functions across PAHT, influence across all levels and role model our values. Job summary The Head of Organisational Development (OD) is responsible for facilitating change through an holistic and humanistic approach that puts people at the heart of the process and deputises for the Associate Director of OD and Learning. You will be responsible for a professional, client centred organisational development consultancy that facilitates organisational success by aligning structural, cultural and strategic needs of the changing PAHT and Integrated Care System (ICS). You will develop, lead on and evaluate a programme of cultural change to ensure that PAHT is equipped to provide a world class patient experience and is a great place to work. You will : • Integrate behaviour change into all Trust transformation programmes and put people at the centre of programme design. • Support the development and implementation of strategies including workforce planning and development, succession planning and talent management, in line with national direction and PAHT strategy • Deliver excellent in-house team development programmes at all levels and commission external providers for specialist needs within the Divisions. • Work collectively with other members of the Senior Management Team to deliver Trust strategies and to meet regulatory requirements, working beyond the scope of the OD function • Work collaboratively with NHS England, the ICS and partner organisations to support the delivery of the shared learning and OD agendas Our Organisation The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishops Stortford, and St Margarets Hospital in Epping. We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishops Stortford and Epping. Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire. In October 2019, the Government announced that we are to receive funding to rebuild a new hospital in Harlow for our patients, community and people.
