Role: R&D Engineer Location: Bristol Duration: 12 months Rate: £40 - £60/hour - Umbrella Inside IR35 Our client is seeking an R&D Engineer to join a small, high-calibre team developing the next generation of on-wing engine inspection technologies and automation solutions. Key responsibilities: Support engineering R&D projects through a broad range of development testing. Design, set up and operate mechanical and electronic testing. Develop testing apparatus and procedures. Collect and process data using Excel, with Python desirable. Report test results clearly to the team. Devise new tests based on existing results. Support basic 3D CAD work for test equipment design and build. Assist with workshop activities and 3D printing. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues. Travel occasionally within the UK to conduct product testing. Essential experience: Engineering verification and validation. Use of oscilloscopes, data loggers and similar equipment. Workshop skills, including basic power and hand tools. Experience in small, fast-moving engineering teams. CAD experience. Creating test documentation, plans and results reports. Desirable: Test automation experience. Programming of Arduinos, Raspberry Pi, or similar. Robotic programming experience, such as UR robots.
