Waste and Resources Lead
Shift Times: Monday- Friday 40HPW
Pay Rate: £315 per day
Location: Bridgwater TA6 4FJ
Job Purpose / Overview
The Waste and Resources Lead will be part of a team of Environmental Management professionals reporting to the Site Environment & Sustainability Manager. This role will be dedicated to supporting the waste management requirements of the HPC Project both at HPC and further afield. The main purpose is to ensure that the waste contract for the site is managed in a technically compliant manner, while delivering the best outcomes commercially and environmentally for the Project.
A successful candidate will be supported by the wider Environment & Sustainability team and the Waste Management Contractor, who manage and assure compliance aspects of waste management.
To succeed you will need:
* In-depth knowledge of waste legislation and proven experience within large-scale construction or other high-hazard industrial waste management environments.
* Detailed working knowledge of Technical Guidance WM3 and advanced waste classification.
* Project management experience managing significant work packages and budgets from a technical standpoint.
* Proven track record of delivery within large project environments.
* Ability to develop strategies and deliver projects in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
* Excellent communication skills and experience engaging positively with stakeholders internally and externally.
* Proven ability to handle complex issues and work within our local supply chain vision, fostering a one-team ethos.
* Ability to manage large data sets and prepare environmental, contractual, and financial reports.
* Degree-level education or recent relevant technical experience at a similar level in a related industrial setting.
* NEC3 Contract training.
* Current CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 Qualification.
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Waste Managers or the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.
* Experience working in compliance with ADR Regulations.
* Practical experience with the Definition of Waste: Development Industry Code of Practice, and relevant waste permits from Local Authorities and the Environment Agency.
