Job Summary
Town & Country Property Auctions North East is seeking a driven and well-organised Auction Assistant to join our growing team. This role will primarily focus on sales chasing, onboarding sellers and buyers, and managing client relationships throughout the auction process. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth transactions, delivering exceptional service, and supporting the wider auction team in achieving strong sales results.
This is a fast-paced position that requires excellent communication, sales awareness, and a background in property sales. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and able to build strong rapport with clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Sales Chasing & Auction Chasing
* Progress property sales from offer to completion, liaising with solicitors, buyers, sellers, and partner agents.
* Monitor ongoing sales pipelines to ensure transactions move forward efficiently and within set auction timeframes.
* Resolve issues proactively to prevent delays and maintain strong client relationships.
* Client Onboarding & Relationship Management
* Support onboarding of sellers, including verifying documents, ensuring compliance (AML/ID checks), and preparing auction contracts.
* Assist buyers through the registration, bidding, and post-auction process, providing clear guidance at every stage.
* Maintain excellent communication with vendors, buyers, and partner agents to deliver a seamless experience.
* Sales & Customer Service
* Identify opportunities to upsell additional services and maximise income from sales.
* Maintain a professional and proactive approach to client engagement across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
* Support auctioneers and the wider sales team with lead nurturing and follow-up activity.
* Administration & Organisation
* Manage accurate records of all sales activity, using internal systems and processes.
* Prepare reports, chase outstanding documents, and ensure legal packs and compliance requirements are up to date.
* Coordinate auction day activities, ensuring all parties are informed and processes run smoothly.
Experience & Skills Required
* Essential:
* Previous experience in property sales or lettings.
* Proven ability to chase and progress sales through to completion.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a confident, professional manner.
* Customer-focused with the ability to build rapport quickly.
* Desirable:
* Sales experience with a proven track record of hitting targets.
* Knowledge of the auction process or experience working within an auction environment.
* Familiarity with CRM/property systems (e.g. Yardi, Rezi, Alto, or similar).
