An arts-rich secondary school in Taunton is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Second in Department for Music to help lead a thriving Music department known for its performance culture, creativity, and commitment to inclusion.

Your Role

Teach Music across KS3–KS5 with the opportunity to lead ensembles, concerts, and composition workshops
*
Work alongside the Head of Music to deliver a dynamic curriculum that blends classical training with modern genres and technology
*
Support assessment, track student progress, and plan interventions for high achievement
*
Mentor junior staff and coordinate extra-curricular activities such as musical theatre, instrumental tuition, and community events
*
Help lead whole-school events and promote participation in Music beyond the classroom
Ideal Candidate
*
A qualified Music teacher with experience teaching at multiple key stages
*
Skilled in instrumental or vocal performance, music theory, and/or digital music production
*
A collaborative and creative educator with a passion for making music accessible to all
*
Experience of leadership or coordination within a department or wider school life
