About Them:
Our service user is 26 and has a diagnosis of Chromosome 18 deletion syndrome, a very rare chromosomal disorder. He also has a moderate learning disability and autism, which can cause challenging behaviours. Staff are required to support, reassure, and follow the behaviour support plan and PRN protocol to ensure safety.
There is significant input from the learning disability team, family, and social work to support staff with challenges faced. The service user is mobile and nonverbal but communicates effectively using assistive technology. Behaviours that challenge training will be provided, along with shadowing shifts with experienced staff.
