Job Overview
Reporting into the CNI Manager for the operation and maintenance of Critical National Infrastructure Engineering Services across the National Energy Systems Operators (NESO) estate. The role is expected to take ownership and rectify incidents, planned maintenance activities, and reactives, ensuring compliance with all SLAs, KPI's and site operating procedures. Therefore it is important that this position is at a senior level of engineering experience.
Main Duties
* Be part of a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) support team, ensuring there is no disruption to the site’s critical services 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
* Ensure all shifts are covered and the rota is kept up to date.
* All weekly data collection is kept up to date (capacity report, generator logs etc.).
* Predominantly operate normal working hours, but on occasions to cover the shift rota where there are gaps.
* To operate, maintain and repair critical MEP services in accordance with the contractual maintenance standards.
* Ability to proactively monitor, identify, diagnose and rectify faults using technical drawings and the Building Management System.
* Qualified and detailed knowledge of the electrical installation and testing regulations in accordance with the current version of BS 7671.
* Support the planning, delivery and implementation of new projects, refurbishment works and upgrades.
* To supervise contractors, including the site induction, supervision, issuing an Authority to Work, review and approval of risk assessments, method statements and managing safe working practices
* To monitor, repair and maintain Building Services equipment relating to heating, ventilation, lighting, air conditioning and refrigeration, LV switchgear and transformers, UPS systems, diesel generators together with the associated distribution systems.
* Ensure all activities comply with statutory, regulatory, and industry standards, including health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Liaise with the NESO client, providing technical reports, updates, and assurance of service delivery. Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and service excellence.
Essential
* Completed a time served electrical apprenticeship.
* Must have completed the current BS7671 wiring regulations training.
* Must be familiar with LPHW systems.
* Permit to Work experience.
* Experience of the control of contractors.
* Full Car/Van Driving Licence.
* Ability to be security cleared to a high level (SC).
Desirable
* HNC in Building Services or other related discipline.
* C&G 2391 electrical Testing and Inspection certificate.
* Trend 963 qualification or equivalent.
* IOSH Health and Safety Certificate.
* HV/LV Authorised Person.
* Confined spaces Authorised Person.
* Knowledge of ACOP L8.
