Early Intervention Team Care coordinator
Oldham Early Intervention Team are seeking to recruit a band 6 Care Coordinator to join the multidisciplinary team.
We work with people experiencing a first episode psychosis or at risk of developing psychotic symptoms, providing assessment, treatment, psychological therapy, physical health monitoring and family and carer support.
Main duties of the job
To act as Care Coordinator for service users identified as having a first episode psychosis, being in the early phase of a psychotic illness or at risk mental state. To assess needs and deliver interventions in line with currently identified best practice in line with NICE guidance. To provide advice and supervision as required to other mental health professionals within the multi-disciplinary team and to contribute to ongoing service developments.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN / Diploma / Degree), Occupational Therapist or Social Work registration
* Qualification to post graduate level or equivalent worked experience relevant to the role.
Experience
* Experience of giving clinical supervision
* Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Experience working with clients with serious mental illness and their families/carers.
* Experience of care co-ordinating complex packages of care.
* Experience of conducting high quality risk assessments and implementing risk management plans
* Experience in early intervention for psychosis, e.g. specialist placement, previous employment in the early intervention service, participation in a research trial or personal experience.
* Experience in the use of psychosis-specific semi-structured interviews (e.g. PANSS; CAARMS; PSYRATS).
* Experience of managing Community Treatment Order's.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of the ethos and philosophy of early interventions to support their clinical practice.
* A high level of knowledge and around Early Intervention for Psychosis
* Knowledge of research in psychosocial interventions and clinical implication
* A high level of knowledge about the evidence base and guidance for interventions for those with psychosis and an At-Risk Mental State
* Knowledge of NICE guidelines for psychosis and schizophrenia.
Skills and Abilities
* Able to organise, plan and implement own work and oversee that of others.
* Able to work to set workload deadlines and to coordinate staff to achieve same.
* To be self-motivated and to manage time effectively
* An ability to interact appropriately and professionally with colleagues.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience of delivering service presentations and liaison to outside agencies to encourage referrals.
Work related circumstances
* Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
* Willing to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Trust's Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies
* Appointments to regulated and controlled activities require an enhanced DBS disclosure.
