Due to expansion of our EP service we have two exciting opportunities to join Telford & Wrekin’s dynamic, friendly and supportive team, dedicated to providing a high-quality EP service to our children, young people, families and schools.
Successful candidates will be joining a creative and highly skilled team that is well-regarded and valued by schools and other strategic partners and services across Telford & Wrekin. You will benefit from a supportive senior leadership team committed to promoting the wellbeing of staff and work-life balance, ongoing training and development and practising in ways that are equitable, anti-racist, neuro-affirming and culturally responsive. We have strong links with local Doctoral training courses and are committed to supporting Trainee Educational Psychologists on placement.
Our team operates within the framework of a consultation model with an emphasis on solution-focused, person-centred and strengths-based practice. Our traded work with schools is varied and we have extended the EPS into the community through exciting working partnerships with Health and Social Care, enabling us to offer community-based psychology with families through our award-winning collaboration with our Parent Carer Forum ’Parents Opening Doors’ As a team, we actively seek new and innovative ways of working to support young people and their families. We continue to lead on the ELSA initiative, and are committed to whole school wellbeing practices through implementation of the Sandwell Wellbeing Charter Mark.
We would love to hear from candidates who relish applying psychology creatively in a range of settings and are committed to improving the educational and wellbeing outcomes for the children and young people in Telford & Wrekin. We welcome applications from both experienced Educational Psychologists and Trainee Educational Psychologists expecting to qualify in September 2025 and September 2026.
As the ideal candidate you will:
* Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist (or pending on completion of the doctoral training).
* Demonstrate commitment to promoting inclusion through your work with children, families, schools and other professionals.
* Work well in collaboration with the wider EP team, embracing consultation as our main approach to service delivery.
