Job Title Director of Product Management Job Description We are seeking a new Director of Product Management is responsible for defining and leading the execution of best-in-market products. Our mission is to win in the market with the world's best products, marketing and channels. This person will be a visionary leader driving towards the Global success of Sage. Responsible for leading end-to-end product innovation processes from ideation through product/feature launch. Accountable for supporting growing revenue, increasing operational efficiency, defining roadmaps and executing implementation plans to get the right service, to the right customer, at the right price, time, quality, cost and complexity. You will be a thought leader in both qualitative and quantitative market research activities to define and validate customer needs and challenges. Translates ideas into product concepts and defines business requirements. Maintains proven track record of successful business cases including forecasts of performance related to customer acquisition/retention. Primary focus is complete product management ownership for the product/s. Frequently engages with external community, including analysts and Sage partners to communicate the product roadmap. Provides guidance and coaching to other product managers. This is a hybrid role - you will be working 3 days a week from our Newcastle office. Key Responsibilities What you will be doing: 1. Creates, defines and articulates compelling product vision & strategy 2. Owns the product roadmap for cloud native and cloud connected products and services to deliver NPS growth and customer usage KPI's. 3. Establishes strong interlock with priority geographies to drive alignment, deliver localisation plans and ensure that customer desirability and technical feasibility are at the heart of our plans. 4. Owns the definition and design of the customer journey & product experience and owns the interlock with Experience Design. 5. Defines and communicates product requirements and rationale, build strong relationships with all stakeholders in particular, product engineering, product marketing, marketing, finance, FP&A, country commercial leads, executives. 6. Delivers the product - be accountable for the delivery of the product from requirement to usage and in-life management. 7. Defines the global ISV strategy for the Category and owns the interlock with the regions to prioritise local ISV partners. 8. Plays an active part in the monthly global and bi-weekly country category meetings. This is a crucial part of the role which ensures that the program of work associated with the product/s is executed in order to achieve the KPIs set for the product: NPS and Client Adoption. 9. Adopt rigor in all activity including use of tools, processes and methodologies such as JIRA, Agile. 10. Balance competitive advantage, customer need and pure innovation. 11. Global ambassador of Sage; be the voice and the mission of the product inside and outside Sage, outside to include analysts, customers and partners, and conference/industry event communications where detailed product knowledge is required. Represent the segment at events. Skills, know-how and experience: 1. Strong knowledge of the IT industry and the business management needs and challenges faced by customers and competitors in small segment. 2. Strong knowledge of the HR/Payroll industry would be a bonus 3. People leadership skills - able to instil trust, belief, confidence and drive into a worldwide team, working in a matrix 4. Thrives when working in a matrix environment, where colleagues need to be supported, driven, influenced to deliver even bigger results 5. Strong communication and writing skills in English and ability to work across business lines, presenting to executive leadership and at different levels of management. Proven speaker comfortable in large audiences 6. Experience of agile/lean product management principles 7. Passion for technology including Cloud, Social, Mobile and Analytics in B2B and B2C 8. A prior history of working well with internal and external stakeholders including executives, peers, customers, and partners 9. Exceptional team player with proven ability to lead through influence. 10. Strong experience in operating at both a strategic and operational level - Established experience launching successful products in highly competitive technology markets. 11.
