The Team

We are currently offering an experienced Social Worker the opportunity to join ECC’s Safeguarding Triage team, which focuses on triaging and managing all new safeguarding concerns referred to Adult Social Care.

The team supports effective decision-making to ensure section 42 enquiries are progressed appropriately. It oversees incoming safeguarding workflow and maintains strong links with all quadrants, as section 42 enquiries remain their responsibility, providing opportunities to build broad networks across areas.

This role is primarily home-based and office-based, with visits across Essex to assess safeguarding concerns based on risk levels and communication needs. The service aims to provide a consistent approach to triaging and progressing enquiries, leading to more accurate safeguarding data for Adult Social Care.

This is an innovative new approach for Essex County Council, and the successful applicant will help shape how safeguarding is personalized when applying Care Act thresholds.

You will have substantial experience in Adult Social Care, demonstrating good practice, providing advice in complex situations, and understanding current legislation, regulations, and guidance.

* The ability to make clear decisions and identify potential risks.
