Exciting opportunity for a newly qualified and enthusiastic accountant !
Our client distributes popular, award-winning TV programmes to over 1,000 broadcasters and media platforms around the world. On their behalf, we are looking for a newly qualified accountant to support their ever growing business, reporting to the Head of Finance (Projects). This is an excellent opportunity to gain a wide range of experience across reporting, forecasting and commercial analysis and have exposure to senior management and stakeholders (finance and non-finance).
Role and responsibilities:
Cash Forecasting and Reporting
* Ownership of cash flow forecasting models
* Submission of monthly cash forecasts to group, annual reforecast and budget
* Analyse significant cash flow movements on a monthly basis to enable more accurate cash forecasting
* Continue to develop existing models to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the cash flow forecasting process
* Highlighting risks or opportunities in relation to achieving cash targets with the goal of improving working capital management
* Working with the Sales Ledger Manager to ensure the flow of receipts is maintained
* Facilitating production financing and factoring, including calculation of interest costs and maintaining correspondence between banks and producers
Business partnering and Investment Appraisal
* Financial review of prospective scripted content investments using investment appraisal techniques including net present value, IRR and discounted cash flow modelling
* Analysis of historic investment performance and general content financial performance analysis
* Liaising with the Content team to maintain a cash forecast of content investments
* Modelling funding for content investments and supporting decisions on suitable funding models
* Producing purchase orders and authorising payments to producers
Other
* Contributing cash flow and investment analysis to operational review papers and other presentations
* Ad hoc reporting and analysis to senior management and Group analysts
* Ad-hoc analysis as required
Requirements
The successful candidate must be:
* ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA qualified
* Experienced in television distribution/ licensing (preferred)
* Organised with a high attention to detail
* A self-starter who can work to tight deadlines and is quick to learn
* Excellent with Excel.
* Gifted with strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with people at all levels within the Company
* Highly professional.
This is a hybrid role with the office located in Central London.
