In-House Recruitment Consultant @ Stonegate | Foundation CIPD Level 3

Role: Development Chef

Location: Lacock, Wiltshire

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

We are looking for a passionate Development Chef with food manufacturing experience who can translate high-end restaurant standards into scalable, factory-friendly recipes. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, results-driven, and collaborative, with the ability to adapt quickly to challenges and work effectively across teams. Curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring new ingredients, techniques, and trends—particularly in egg-based products—are essential.

Stonegate Farmers Ltd is an integrated free range and organic egg business organised across three divisions comprising farming and agriculture, egg packing and cooked egg processing. Established in 1926 and under new ownership since 2016, we have grown into one of the largest free-range and organic egg producers within the UK.

Role & Responsibilities

* Develop new recipes and refine existing ones to align with customer preferences and market trends.
* Support the Egg Innovation Centre by contributing creative ideas, technical expertise, and product trials.
* Ensure all recipes meet quality, safety, and nutritional standards.
* Monitor costs and work within financial targets to ensure profitability.
* Develop products that contribute to sustainability goals and align with the latest industry trends.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and procurement, to ensure seamless product development.
* Conduct sensory testing and gather feedback to continuously improve product offerings.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging ingredients, and culinary innovations.
* Document recipes, processes, and modifications clearly for replication and compliance purposes.


Qualifications & Experience

* Degree or diploma in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
* Proven experience in developing and refining recipes
* Experience working with egg-based products or in an innovation-focused environment is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, regulatory requirements, and ingredient functionality.
* Track record of managing projects from concept to launch while meeting quality, customer, and financial targets.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally with marketing, production, and commercial teams.
