Description
* Lead a multi-disciplinary team who are responsible for the development, delivery and management of the infrastructure and core services of Radar Live SaaSto high-quality standards.
* Provide technical oversight, guidance and leadership to the team (including code quality, best practices, processes, some aspects of release management, etc.).
* Design and document solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements.
* Lead by example by getting directly involved in the day-to-day delivery of work with hands-on development, following best practices for maintainability, testability and performance.
* Participate in sprint planning meetings, daily stand-ups and sprint retrospectives, striving to continuously improve the team velocity, its processes and engineering practices.
* Coach and mentor colleagues, fostering a collaborative and quality-focused engineering culture.
Qualifications
The Requirements:
The essential skills/experience for this position are:
* Practical experience of designing and developing management and control plane solutions for line of business applications. This includes Stack Management, API Design and User Experience.
* Practical and commercial experience with the full SaaS development lifecycle: requirements capture and analysis, estimation, architecture and design, implementation, unit and system-level testing, deployment, operation and monitoring.
* Experience with software engineering best practices: object-oriented design and implementation, design patterns, SOLID principles and Agile methodology.
* Conduct PoC’s using the latest technologies and present the findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Experience with Azure, Cloud and SaaS technologies.
* Experience with Kubernetes, docker and microservice development / deployment.
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi desirable but not essential).
* Experience with Automation and Testing of Infrastructure artifacts.
* Experience with Security best practices.
Other highly desirable, but not essential skills are:
* Experience with high volume low latency SaaS systems.
* Experience with distributed and event driven architectures.
* Experience with Ingress Solutions such as Azure Front Door and API Management.
* Experience with IAM, Authentication / Authorisation.
* Degree-educated in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent industry experience
* Appreciation of current and emerging technologies along with their potential benefits and limitations.
* General knowledge of the Insurance Industry.
