Job summary
The Microbiology Department at University Hospitals North Tees and Hartlepool (NTH) and South Tees Hospitals (STH) are working collaboratively to develop a joint service called Tees Valley Pathology.
Depending on qualifications and experience, applications are welcome from newly qualified HCPC candidates working towards registration, who may be considered for the Registered Biomedical Scientist (Band 5) level.
We are seeking qualified, enthusiastic HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists with relevant experience, knowledge, and skills to join our team in Bacteriology and Virology services at The James Cook University Hospital.
Consideration will be given to newly qualified HCPC candidates.
Main duties of the job
1. Rotation through all sections within the department to gain diverse experience.
2. Leading in achieving daily workload targets, requiring effective communication skills.
3. Performing routine operations within the Microbiology department under management guidance, following approved methodologies.
4. Training and developing Trainee Biomedical Scientists, Health Care Science Support Workers, and other staff as per departmental policy.
5. Working autonomously for significant periods.
