Overview
PA is needed to support a very friendly 16-year-old girl with a diagnosis of Autism who is eager to explore the world. The girl has limited communication and may require support to manage safety and social interactions. She enjoys activities such as swimming, trampoline parks, soft play centres, visiting restaurants and coffee bars, and travelling to new places. The PA will assist with these activities and help access appropriate social groups like Big Buzz and LAFFs.
Responsibilities
* Participate in leisure activities with the young person, including swimming (essential), visits to restaurants, coffee bars, and outings to new places.
* Go on trips using public transport or (where applicable) a private vehicle; driving is preferred but not essential if alternate transport is available.
* Provide companionship and support to help the young person enjoy activities and outings while promoting safety and wellbeing.
* Assist with social engagement and access to appropriate social groups.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Swimming skills are essential, as the PA will need to be in the water with the young person.
* Driver’s license and access to a vehicle are preferred but not essential.
* Responsible, reliable, kind, and capable of building a supportive companionship.
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required; the cost will be met by the local authority/employer.
* Location: HU8 area; Rate of pay: £12.21; Hours: 4 hours per week; Vacancies: 1.
