Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week (9:00am - 5:00pm)
Pay: Up to 25.80 an hour
About the Role
We are currently seeking two experienced and committed Advanced Social Workers to join our Children in Care team in Derbyshire on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for those with a strong background in working with children in care who are passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
Hold a manageable caseload of children in care and maintain regular visits to them, including at their placements.
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with children and young people to ensure their voices are heard and their needs met.
Be a strong advocate for children in care and promote their wellbeing and outcomes at every opportunity.
Respond to the needs of children through both planned interventions and crisis support, working in line with Derbyshire's procedures and statutory requirements.
Contribute to a team culture that believes "we do not give up on our children.
Essential Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) and registered with Social Work England.
Significant experience working with children in care within a statutory social work setting.
In-depth knowledge of children in care processes, care planning, permanence, and relevant legislation.
Ability to manage your own time effectively and work independently with strong organisation skills.
Confident in using IT systems for case recording and communication.
Willingness and ability to travel to children's placements across Derbyshire as required.
Demonstrated ability to build trusting, therapeutic relationships with young people, particularly those with complex needs and attachment difficulties.
