Job summary

Are you a Mental Health Practitioner (Nurse/OT/Social Worker) looking for a new opportunity to work in an organisation that will help you develop and achieve your goals to become the best you can be? If so, you're in luck.

Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust has an opportunity to join our Crisis Resolution/ Home Crisis Treatment team in Southwest Staffordshire based at Haywood Lodge, Stafford as a Community Mental Health Nurse.

We work with people who are experiencing a mental health crisis, who require extra support alongside their regular support network or who can have the same treatment provided at home that they would receive in a Mental Health Hospital.

As an integral team in the Urgent Care Pathway, we work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and team members are required to work rostered shifts including weekends and nights. Due to the nature of the role, you must have access to suitable transport to cover the geographical area during your shifts.

Main duties of the job

Band 5 practitioners have a crucial role in delivering safe and effective home treatment for an identified client group and in accordance with that person's wellbeing and recovery action plan

You will participate in the delivery of the agreed aims and objectives of the service and identify factors which may inhibit these from being achieved. You will assist in the delivery of a high standard of nursing care to service users referred to the team. You will implement agreed systems for the monitoring of effectiveness of care. You will participate in the education and management of junior staff.

About us

Come and work with us at our award-winning NHS Trust, leading the way for trying new and better ways of working to help improve life for our local communities.

We have around 9,000 staff who provide physical and mental healthcare, support for people with learning disabilities, and adult social care across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Shropshire, and Telford & Wrekin. We also run regional and national services, including help for new parents (perinatal care), eating disorders, forensic services, sexual health, and support for people in prison with mental health, drug, or alcohol problems.

We offer great career development for both clinical and non-clinical roles, with ongoing training and support to help you learn and grow.

We are 'United in our Uniqueness' and committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome and can be themselves, no matter their background or identity. We want our staff to feel supported and valued, and we aim to build a team that reflects the communities we serve. Together, we can make sure every voice is heard, and every difference is respected.
