Based in the Chief Executives Department, the Economic Development Division is responsible for delivering the Glasgow Economic Strategy 2022-2030. Working with key city stakeholders and partners, the strategy focuses on addressing three grand challenges facing the city's economy:
1. Enhancing Productivity
2. Creating an Inclusive Economy
3. The Climate Emergency
The Economic Development division is structured under several functional areas, each responsible for delivering elements of the city's Economic Strategy, including Inward Investment, the Innovation Economy, the Green Economy, the Digital Economy, Employment and Skills, and Business Growth.
We are seeking a passionate and committed individual to join the senior management team at this exciting time. The Group Manager Inward Investment role offers an opportunity to drive forward a new operational structure within the Investment, International and Innovation section of Economic Development. The successful candidate will support strategic priorities and deliver on the ambitions outlined in the Council's Strategic Plan. This role has overall responsibility for designing and delivering investment policy across infrastructure, company investment, and foreign direct investment sectors.
