Bishops Vets in Hatfield, Hertfordshire are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our supportive and friendly team. This is a part-time, 6-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
You'll be working 16 hours per week, across two 8-hour shifts on Mondays and Tuesdays. There's also a share of our Saturday rota - one in four weekends, 9am-12pm, with time off in lieu the following week.
Role Details
Your responsibilities will span typical general practice duties - including theatre work, assisting with procedures, radiography, inpatient care, nurse consultations, dispensary and light admin.
We’re a small, single-site practice, so this role suits someone who enjoys building relationships with clients, working closely with colleagues, and being involved in all areas of the practice. We pride ourselves on continuity of care and a healthy work-life balance.
Work Schedule
We’re open from 8am-7pm Monday to Friday and 9am-12pm on Saturdays. Your shifts will fall on Mondays and Tuesdays, with occasional weekend cover (1 in 4) and time off in lieu following any Saturday worked.
About the Practice
Our practice is well-equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental X-ray, in-house bloods, multiparameter monitor, Bair Hugger, separate cat and dog wards, and a dedicated nurse consulting room.
Hatfield offers direct train links to London and easy access to both the A1(M) and M25, making it a convenient and well-connected place to work. Our ethos is to deliver thoughtful, tailored clinical care in a genuinely friendly environment.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse. Whether you're experienced or newly qualified, we’d love to hear from you. As a training practice, we’re used to nurturing developing nurses, and we offer a supportive setup for new grads to grow in confidence and capability.
We’re after someone collaborative, positive, and keen to play an active role in maintaining our culture of care - both for patients and for each other.
