The Role - Purpose & Scope


You’ll help to enhance the reach of our services and advance critical scientific communication by applying your creative skills and digital experience to delivering outstanding digital content. You’ll develop engaging, accessible and high-quality content design that is informed by evidence and optimised for scientific audiences, enhancing the accessibility of our services. Responsible for enhancing digital content campaign effectiveness, continuous improvement of product performance, and delivering the highest quality standards for our clients.

There will be a strong focus on working with editorial and client services teams to refresh and unify brand product identity, in line with audience needs and our business value proposition. You will provide expert creative design direction for each of our core products (emails, social, webinars, virtual events, e-books, whitepapers), and how it is used and adapted in our client campaigns to excel client expectations, improve engagement, effectiveness, and deliver successful results.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide creative direction to unify and elevate brand identity across all digital products (emails, social media, webinars, virtual events, e-books, whitepapers), ensuring consistency, effectiveness, and alignment with our business value proposition.
* Lead strategic collaboration with internal stakeholders, including client services, editorial and senior leadership teams, to optimise and refine the digital content product portfolio.
* Enhance the engagement, effectiveness, and overall quality of digital content campaigns thought design, ensuring they consistently meet the evolving needs of scientific audiences and advance critical scientific communication.
* Optimise the delivery of digital campaign content design by identifying inefficiencies and implementing clear, methodical processes that streamline workflows; focusing on making it easier for teams to execute campaigns with minimal friction, reducing the need for extensive client design input while still meeting and exceeding client expectations.
* Strategically plan and oversee design activities across teams, ensuring alignment with brand identity and adherence to project timelines, while fostering cross-departmental collaboration to achieve exceptional results.
* Drive the continuous enhancement of digital product performance by conducting in-depth competitor analysis, incorporating client and audience feedback, and integrating innovative ideas from within and beyond the industry.
* Uphold and champion the highest quality standards in digital content delivery through rigorous quality control processes, product optimization, and a commitment to a "right first time" approach.
* Provide effective line management to the design team, offering guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance, professional growth, and alignment with organizational goals.

* Proven track record of ideally 5+ years in digital design, with some experience in senior or lead creative role. This is a perfect role for an ambitious, mid-weight designer, wanting to take on more responsibility in the areas of design strategy and direction.
* Demonstrated experience in providing creative direction for a diverse range of digital products.
* Experience in creating user-centered designs that enhance engagement and accessibility, with a deep understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices.
* Demonstrated ability to create and iterate on wireframes, prototypes, and final designs that align with brand identity and user needs.
* Significant experience in cross-team collaboration.
* Experience in leading cross-departmental design projects, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to meet project objectives and deadlines.
* Proven ability to develop and implement methodologies that lead to consistent delivery of high-quality digital content.
* Experience in implementing rigorous quality control processes, ensuring digital products meet the highest standards of excellence.
