Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Overview
An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to
play a key role in the delivery of electrical building services across a range of
sectors. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects, manage design delivery,
and support the development of junior engineers while working closely with clients
and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the electrical design on multiple small projects (up to £10m), or act as
lead engineer on a medium-sized project (up to £50m), or support the
electrical design on large-scale projects (£50m+).
Undertake feasibility and viability assessments at early project stages.
Prepare conceptual and detailed electrical designs in line with client briefs,
relevant standards, and regulations.
Contribute to project implementation planning and resource estimation.
Manage allocated resources to ensure delivery within agreed internal project
budgets.
Prepare clear and concise written reports for internal and external
stakeholders.
Produce and review electrical design drawings using AutoCAD.
Carry out electrical calculations and modelling as required.
Attend, lead and chair internal and external project meetings.
Mentor, review and approve the work of junior electrical engineers.
Participate in quality control and document management in line with company
systems.
Support internal project management activities, including programme and
resource planning.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.
About You
Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a
related discipline.
Chartered Engineer status achieved or nearing completion with a recognised
professional body.
Proven experience delivering electrical building services design within a
consultancy environment.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and relevant UK standards
and regulations.
Confident communicator with experience working directly with clients and
design teams.
Comfortable mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team
development
