Overview
We are hiring a US business writer. The ideal candidate would have deep knowledge of American business and be able to identify the most important company and thematic stories as they emerge. They would be expected to produce original and ambitious journalism capable of holding the cover of The Economist. They would also have the opportunity to appear on podcasts and in videos. Ideally, the writer would be based in New York.
We are hiring a US business writer. The deadline for applications is February 20th. The article should be unpublished and no longer than 700 words. Applicants should send a CV and a sample article suitable for publication in The Economist to businesswriter@economist.com.
Responsibilities
* Identify the most important company and thematic stories as they emerge.
* Produce original and ambitious journalism suitable for publication in The Economist.
* Possibly participate in podcasts and videos.
Qualifications
* Analytical thinking and clear writing skills are essential.
* Journalistic experience is not essential.
* Based in New York is preferred.
