Wastewater (Hydraulic) Modellers / Catchment Planners – North West / Various Locations
Our client is looking to recruit multiple Wastewater (Hydraulic) Modellers / Catchment Planners for major long-term frameworks across the UK. This includes a prestigious framework aimed at improving river health in the Northwest of England.
About the Role:
As part of a 10-year framework, you’ll be working on innovative projects to optimise programs, develop solutions, and select preferred options based on best value, lowest carbon, and cost. The mission is to deliver exceptional water services, fostering a resilient and eco-friendly Northwest.
While the North West is the preferred location, other locations will be considered.
About the Team:
The Water Consulting team comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts, providing asset management and operational strategy development to support business planning and delivery for water industry clients. They have long-term framework agreements with several major UK water companies.
About You:
Candidates should have experience with urban drainage projects, proficiency in InfoWorks ICM, and relevant GIS software. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to integrate seamlessly into a team are essential. The role also offers opportunities to mentor and provide technical guidance.
Responsibilities:
* Construct, verify, and maintain various levels of wastewater models.
* Deliver feasibility studies, model use studies, optioneering, and development assessments for wastewater networks.
* Ensure quality of modelling outputs and compliance with standards.
* Manage small projects.
* Maintain strong collaborative relationships with clients.
* Provide technical support and assistance to team members.
* Operate in accordance with corporate health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Relevant experience in modelling within a consultancy or water company.
* Proficiency in Excel and Visual Basic.
* Proficient in InfoWorks ICM and associated packages.
* Working knowledge of GIS systems (preferably MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
* Skilled in handling large datasets.
* Experience with discipline-specific data analysis packages such as InfoWorks or InfoAsset.
* General understanding of the UK water industry.
* Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
* Preferably degree qualified in a relevant technical subject. Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
* Chartership or working towards chartership for Senior or Principal grades.
