LOCATION: ASHBURN, VA
SCHEDULE: First 2 weeks in office (4 days) from 8:00am to 3:30pm. Subsequently, regular hours will be 11:00am to 6:30pm EST.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Construction Scheduler II will provide expertise in project controls, scheduling, schedule analysis, earned value management, and construction activities to support a construction program. They will ensure projects are completed within the projected timeframe and collaborate with Project Managers and site staff to gather data on project status.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop resource-loaded project schedules using PWS, technical proposal, WBS, and instructions from senior project managers and technical leads.
* Understand EVMS best practices.
* Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope of work to prepare and accept baseline schedules for construction.
* Monitor multiple project schedules and provide guidance as needed.
* Represent CPG and its partners professionally to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives.
* Support the development of conceptual bid and proposal schedules and present to management or selection committees if required.
* Use analytics to identify and report project trends.
* Cost and manpower load schedules for project execution.
* Evaluate construction status relative to plans and analyze impacts of changes.
* Prepare Time Impact Analyses following standard practices.
* Travel to project sites as needed.
* Suggest improvements to departmental policies and procedures.
* Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
* 8+ years of scheduling experience on commercial construction projects, with Data Center experience a plus.
* Certification such as PMI-SP, PMP, or Six Sigma is preferable.
* Experience with Lean Scheduling, EVMS, resource-loaded scheduling, and interface with CPM scheduling is preferred.
* U.S. citizenship required.
Computer Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
* Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or PDF drawing takeoff.
Certificates and Licenses
* OSHA certification preferred.
* Electrical and safety licenses/certificates.
Physical Demands
* Regular sitting; standing and walking required.
* Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
