Marine Environmental Advisor Gravesend, Kent Full-time, Permanent About the Role As a Marine Environmental Advisor, you''ll be part of a team within Marine Operations, helping to manage navigation channels, assess environmental impacts of third-party works, and deliver accurate tidal data services. Key Responsibilities Oversee maintenance dredging and manage navigation channel assets Assess environmental impacts of harbour works and ensure regulatory compliance Analyse tidal data and manage the Thames 2D hydrodynamic model Support river users with reliable tidal products and services Essential: Degree in physical sciences or engineering Experience in dredging, coastal processes, or tidal modelling GIS proficiency and strong analytical skills Excellent communication - able to explain technical matters clearly Professional membership (e.g., ICE, IMarEST, Geological Society) Desirable: Postgrad qualification in Marine Geology, Coastal Engineering, or similar Familiarity with marine construction and UK consenting processes Local knowledge of the Thames Estuary This is more than a job - its a chance to contribute to the sustainable future of the Thames and support safe navigation for generations to come.
