We are recruiting an Interim Repairs Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Northampton, supporting property services across the local region on a 6-month contract.

As an Interim Repairs Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and resolving property repair issues across housing stock, ensuring homes are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and safe for residents. * Rate: £35 £40 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
* Contract: 6-month interim assignment (potential for extension)
* Working pattern: Full-time (3740 hours per week)

Key responsibilities:
* Conduct detailed property inspections, including condition surveys and defect diagnosis
* Prepare technical reports and schedules of work
* Manage repair cases from initial inspection through to completion
* Oversee works relating to general repairs, damp, mould, and structural issues
* Prepare specifications and manage contractors to deliver remedial works
* Ensure all works comply with legislation, regulations, and health & safety standards
* Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams
* Monitor progress of works and ensure timely completion
* Maintain accurate records and documentation
* Support wider property services as required in your role as a Repairs Surveyor
About you:
* Proven experience in a similar role within Social Housing or property services
* Strong knowledge of building maintenance and repairs
* Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree in Building Surveying or similar)
* Excellent understanding of building pathology, xxuwjjq including damp and general defects
* Experience managing contractors and overseeing works
* Strong report writing and organisational skills
* Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload as a Repairs Surveyor
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
