Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Assistant to join an established accountancy practice in Paisley. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, with the potential to become a permanent position.
As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both weekly and monthly payroll runs and providing administrative support to the payroll function and wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process weekly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with current legislation
Respond to client queries in a timely and professional manner
Support with general administrative tasks related to payroll processing
Liaise with HMRC and other relevant bodies as required
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll-related matters
Requirements:
Previous experience in a payroll or finance admin role (within an accountancy practice is desirable but not essential)
Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC reporting requirements
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Ability to manage workload and meet tight deadlines
