Job Description:
The Role
To maintain a range of buildings services, plant and equipment, which can sometimes be complex and non-routine by diagnosing and repairing faults as they occur.
Maintain NHSL’s mechanical, electrical plumbing, associated building services plant and building fabric assets to a high standard.
This will include the planning and prioritising on a day-to-day basis of workload and material management, including documentation, completion, and sign-off.

What you'll need to bring
Completion of apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Bias plus an HNC or equivalent, with additional non-core training qualification at SVQ level or equivalent.
In addition:
* Experience working in an estates service environment.
* Knowledge of current statutory legislative requirements.
* Experience in inspecting and planning for PPM and reactive maintenance.
* Training relevant to the position, including statutory training, Archibus, Learnpro, and Toolbox Talks.
* Additional knowledge in portable appliance testing, periodic testing, sterilizers, asbestos awareness, legionella prevention, tube system maintenance, PLC controllers, steam/boilers, etc., to achieve competency or accreditation.
* Accredited Boiler/Steam course for HSE and insurance compliance.
* Medical Gas training and Medical Gas Pipeline Systems training for competency.
* Sterilisers and autoclave courses for competent person status.
* Healthcare Ventilation course for competent person status.
* Manufacturer courses for specialized equipment like industrial laundry machinery.
Please note: a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence is required for roles requiring driving.
Preferred qualifications
* Apprenticeship in a core trade with further training in non-core skills.
* HNC or equivalent in a core subject plus additional qualifications in non-core skills.
* At least 4 years of apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with City & Guilds Part 3, ONC, or equivalent.
* Basic training in Health & Safety, Manual Handling, and CPR.
Contract details
Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week).
Location and Working Pattern
Based in PSSD Maintenance department within Law House.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30, and Friday 08:00 - 13:30.
