About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Responsibilities include managing food supplies, maintaining fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff, and cleaning. Resident wellbeing is your priority.
We look for candidates with some kitchen experience, preferably with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to study for one. Strong organizational skills, good record-keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must recognize signs of abuse or neglect and know how to report concerns. Attendance at safeguarding training and related courses is required, along with the ability to seek advice and escalate issues when necessary.
