Job summary
The Rotherham Foundation Trust is a successful Trust with a reputation for high standards and delivery of excellent care to the patients of Rotherham and its surrounding areas. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time permanent band 7 Highly Specialist Lead Podiatrist to join our Podiatry team due to development and progression within our Podiatry service.
Rotherham Podiatry service has recently appointed a new clinical lead so this is a very exciting time to be joining the team and be an integral part of the restructure of the department. Our Podiatry department has a proven track record of internal promotions and upskilling of staff (non medical prescribing, IRMER so clinicians can request x-rays, shockwave therapy, acupuncture, steroid injection and leadership).
If successful you will work alongside our Podiatry team consisting of Podiatry Assistants, band 6 Specialist Podiatrists and our other Band 7 Lead Podiatrist (biomechanics). You will be involved in developing pathways to improve patient experience, leading our high risk foot elements of the service in both hospital and community setting, working on audits and look to develop the service alongside the clinical lead. If you have not already got Non-Medical Prescribing then it would be expected that you would work towards gaining this qualification.
Main duties of the job
Within the role you will be working across a variety of settings including community clinics, home visits and hospital site. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary (MDT) diabetic foot service working alongside colleagues from Endocrine, Orthotics, Vascular Surgery, Podiatric Surgery and OPAT.
As well as working with our MDT members you will be given the opportunity to manage various audits to ensure we are working to a high standard of care and continuously improving the service, this includes the National Diabetic Foot Audit.
Interviews scheduled to take place 4th July 2025
