Rate of pay 12.60 ( Grade B )
Contracted Hours per week Various hours between 8 – 11 hours per week

Key responsibilities

Responsible for the day to day supervision of the road crossing of children and other users at the designated crossing point.
•Assist in the operational management of the school crossing patrol function to achieve service objectives.
•To at all times promote a professional image of the organisation.
•To wear the full uniform provided by KMBC while on duty. This is a legal requirement.
•To observe traffic and only stop in accordance with the law and in a safe manner.
•Be responsible for safely crossing all crossers once the traffic is at a standstill.
•Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.
•To participate in the staff review and development process.
•To attend any relevant meetings.

Health and Safety
•To use personal protective equipment as instructed and trained.
•Must wear the full uniform as provided when on the crossing.
•To inform management of any health and safety or safeguarding issues that may place individuals in danger.
•To work at all times in a manner that will ensure your own personal safety and that of others, including reporting of identified hazards.

Data Protection and Information Security

•Implement and act in accordance with the Information Security Acceptable Use policy and Data Protection Policy,
•Protect the council’s information assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference,
•Report actual or potential security incidents.

Skills required No previous experience required for the post

Qualifications required
•The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level 3 check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
•Must undertake mandatory training as part of the role
