Join to apply for the Support Worker (Male) role at Community Integrated Care.
We are currently recruiting for Part Time Male Support Workers (16 hours per week) to join our independent living support team in Wick. The people we support have various care needs, and the role involves working with a gentleman who has an Acquired Brain Injury, Mental Health challenges and Epilepsy to help him live independently in his own home. A male colleague is required for this role in compliance with the Equality Act 2010. We are an Equal Opportunities and Disability Confident employer.
Shift patterns will vary and may include mornings and afternoons (10:00–16:00). Monday to Friday, with some occasional weekends and evenings. Flexibility to vary hours to suit the ideal candidate is welcomed.
Responsibilities
* Support the person with daily living tasks and routines in a person-centred way
* Maintain the person’s home and assist with domestic activities (cooking, cleaning, finances where appropriate)
* Support with medication as required
* Provide community involvement and support to maintain relationships with family and peers
* Support the person to stay active in the local community and with activities they enjoy
* Assist with personal care and overall wellbeing, ensuring safety and dignity
* Occasionally drive or travel with the person if required; vehicle access is desirable
* Work as part of a diverse team, keeping the person supported and safe in their own home
