An established independent accountancy firm in Northamptonshire is looking to appoint a Tax Director to play a key role in the continued development of its tax advisory offering.
This is a leadership opportunity suited to someone who enjoys building trusted client relationships, delivering high-level advisory work, and helping shape the future direction of a successful independent practice.
Working closely alongside the existing Tax Partner, you will support a varied portfolio of entrepreneurial businesses, owner-managed companies, and high-net-worth individuals across a broad range of advisory matters.

The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership role within the firms tax function, with a strong emphasis on advisory work and relationship-led client service.
You will work closely with the existing Tax Partner on a broad range of advisory matters including succession planning, shareholder planning, restructuring projects, remuneration planning, and strategic tax advice for owner-managed businesses and private clients.
Alongside delivering high-level advisory support, you will also contribute to the wider growth and development of the tax department, supporting the team and helping strengthen the firms long-term offering.
The firm already has a strong tax presence and loyal client base in place, but there is genuine appetite to bring in someone who can become a long-term part of the leadership and succession plan.
What You Will Be Doing
Leading complex tax advisory projects across corporate and personal tax
Acting as a trusted adviser to entrepreneurial businesses and high-net-worth individuals
Supporting clients with strategic tax planning and commercial decision-making
Working closely with the Tax Partner on specialist advisory assignments
Developing and mentoring members of the tax team
Identifying opportunities to expand advisory services within the existing client base
Contributing to the continued growth and direction of the tax function
Supporting networking and business development activity where appropriate
What They Are Looking For
* ACA / CTA qualified (or equivalent)
* Strong background in tax advisory within an accountancy practice environment
* Experience working with owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients
* Comfortable managing senior client relationships
* Commercially aware with a proactive and relationship-focused approach
* Someone who enjoys advisory work and wants to play a visible role within a growing independent firm
* Previous experience operating at Senior Manager, Associate Director, Director, or Partner Designate level would be of interest
