Casual Residential Support Worker (Ref:0003ZB)
You will be joining a team of passionate people, with the opportunity to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of person-centred counsellors and a psychoanalytic art therapist. This is a casual, shifts-as-required role at Chy, a residential rehabilitation unit in Truro providing drug, alcohol and mental health treatment services.
Responsibilities
* Support residents to engage in activities that develop independent living skills (e.g., cooking, cleaning, shopping) and help them have fun in sobriety.
* Co-facilitate workshops around basic life skills and goal-setting as required.
* Work flexibly and unsocial hours including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* A driver, with a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Qualified to OCN/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or willing to achieve within 12 months
* Provide 3 years of references and undergo an enhanced DBS check if successful
Experience (Essential)
* Energetic and enthusiastic with a willingness to get involved
* Empathic toward residents’ diverse needs
* Flexible and able to work a range of shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
* Experience or volunteering in health, social care, criminal justice or related settings with substance misuse clients
* Knowledge of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations
* Experience of working in a residential setting
