Your Role as a Tutor
As a full-time Tutor at Lyttelton House School, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students' personal and academic development. Here’s what you can expect:
* Enhance wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management.
* Collaborate with the Education Team to remove barriers to learning.
* Promote positive learning behaviours among our young people.
* Lead classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
* Deliver engaging enrichment activities during 'Golden Time'.
* Provide in-class support for academic, pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
* Respond to immediate concerns and resolve situations effectively.
* Compile information related to lessons and interventions.
* Assist in preparing information for meetings regarding pupils.
* Act as an advocate for the ethos of Lyttelton House School.
* Lead on Reading and Phonics, tracking progress made by students.
* Develop the Pupil Voice initiative in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.
* Build strong relationships with parents/carers, actively participating in transitions and consultations.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
* Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
* The confidence to take on additional responsibilities in specific areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, School Yoga).
* Experience in behaviour management techniques.
* A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
