Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine
NHS Lanarkshire - University Hospital Monklands
University Hospital Monklands (UHM) is seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor to join its existing team of anaesthetists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
The Anaesthetics Department is part of the Surgical & Critical Care Directorate, which provides services within a 7-theatre main operating suite and a stand-alone 2-theatre day unit. The department includes a 10-bedded Level II/III ICU, admitting approximately 600 patients annually, and 6 Level I surgical beds, admitting over 200 patients per year.
The successful candidate will contribute to general anaesthesia provision within the main theatre and day surgery unit, as well as deliver critical care, including out-of-hours work. The balance between critical care and anaesthesia will depend on the candidate's preferences and service needs. There will be dedicated time allocated for developing a special interest in areas such as Simulation, Quality Improvement, or Clinical Research.
University Hospital Monklands is a district general hospital offering varied practice and hosts all major ENT, Head and Neck, and Urology cases for NHS Lanarkshire, along with general surgery, vascular access, OMFS, and dental services.
