Job Role: Deputy Homes Manager
White Trees group is owned and operated by SureCare Residential Ltd. Our role as a company is to provide a home for vulnerable and complex young people who find themselves in residential care for various reasons, often out of their control. It is important that you understand your role within the company as a Deputy Manager and spend time learning about and understanding your responsibilities. Long-term positive change for young people is achieved through continuity, rigorous care planning, therapeutic interventions, and a team approach that fosters consistency.
Main Purpose of Job:
To support the roster and shift coverage, mentoring senior staff and TPWs to ensure effective daily operations within the home, meeting the needs of our young people and the home environment.
To lead by example, mentoring and coaching staff as an effective and positive role model.
To be responsible for the effective day-to-day running of the home in the absence of the manager, overseeing staff work allocations and direct work with children when necessary.
To be responsible for all aspects of the residential premises.
Key Duties
* Support the Registered Homes Manager in ensuring compliance with company policies and OFSTED regulations.
* Act as deputy for the Registered Manager in their absence.
* Safeguard and promote the welfare and development of young people (DSL in the Manager's absence).
* Ensure young people's needs are recognized and met, including safeguarding against discrimination.
* Maintain a homely environment with high standards of décor.
* Support the admission and transition processes for young people.
* Support the development and review of individual care plans.
* Develop relationships with families and professionals involved with the young people.
* Ensure individual needs such as cultural, religious, dietary, and medical are met.
* Support young people in learning responsibility and understanding their rights.
* Plan, manage, and lead shifts to ensure safety and engagement.
* Adhere to placement and care plans at all times.
* Promote education attendance and support learning.
Practical Duties
* Maintain professionalism among staff.
* Adhere to policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
* Manage duty rotas flexibly to maximize experience.
* Ensure communication and incident reporting are timely and accurate.
* Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain confidentiality.
Managerial Duties
* Work in accordance with the Statement of Purpose and update relevant documents.
* Provide effective leadership and support to the staff team.
* Ensure compliance with legislation and standards, including Ofsted recommendations.
* Coordinate with social workers and other professionals.
* Handle administrative tasks for the home's operation.
* Support staff development through supervision and appraisals.
* Participate in on-call duties and training.
* Undertake additional duties as appropriate.
Training
* Attend supervision and wellbeing sessions for CPD.
* Complete induction and mandatory training, including physical intervention and safeguarding.
* Maintain up-to-date training records and participate in internal promotion opportunities.
