About theRole:
Join the dynamic teamlocated at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Harwell,Oxfordshire. You will be involved with experiments at Diamond LightSource National Synchrotron Facility, Central Laser Facility andISIS Neutron and Muon Source, a world-leading centre for research.The local team comprises PSS technical and administrative supportstaff, academics, research fellows, postdoctoral researchers andPhD students based locally in Harwell, Oxfordshire. You will engagewith a wide range of people across the site including University ofManchester Research Groups based locally on site at Harwell, andwith a much broader academic community across university staffbased in Manchester and various academic, governmental andindustrial collaborators both nationally and internationally. Youwill play an integral part in supporting the development ofworld-leading research for applying synchrotron science to keyresearch challenges.
The Deputy OperationsManager will provide day to day local support to the Director andDeputy Director of The University of Manchester at Harwell and tothe Head of Operations based in Manchester. He or she will free upboth the Director and Head of Operations from responsibility forthe day-to-day local operational matters including the managementand development of a high quality, PSS administrative and technicalteam. Working together with both the Director, Deputy Director andthe Head of Operations, the Deputy Operations Manager will ensurethe local implementation of The University of Manchester atHarwell's strategic and operational plans. The Deputy OperationsManager will also support the Director, Deputy Director and Head ofOperations to help ensure the facilities conformity with allrelevant legal and statutorycompliance.
