Ranelagh Primary School Address: Ipswich, Suffolk IP2 0AN Salary: Grade 3, Point 4 £25,940 per annum pro rata Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, 8.30am – 3.25pm Contract: Permanent, required as soon as possible Reference: 8615 Ranelagh Primary School are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the team. As a Teaching Assistant you will: provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs from all four broad areas of the SEND Code of Practice play an active role in early intervention assist with manual handling, mobility, and personal care tasks deliver sensory and communication-based learning activities use visual supports, Makaton, or AAC systems where appropriate promote engagement, independence, and emotional wellbeing work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet EHCP targets maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment. You will: have experience supporting pupils with special educational needs be patient, resilient, and compassionate have strong communication and teamwork skills be committed to promoting independence and positive outcomes for vulnerable pupils have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) have an English and maths qualification grade C and above. Your responsibilities will be to: commit to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults take direct responsibility for own continuous professional development participate in the school’s Performance Management Scheme undertake such other duties as are commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post understand barriers to learning and support learners to overcome these by developing innovative practice and delivering a consistently outstanding service maintain accurate records of all interventions and student information on the safeguarding database manage a flexible caseload of students, prioritising those with complex needs and safeguarding concerns be a key member of the Safeguarding Team as an ADSL attend regular caseload reviews to ensure student needs are being met.
