Typical Activities
* Monitor production infrastructure to ensure performance and availability
* Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement fixes
* Respond to security alerts, system events and operational incidents
* Support infrastructure builds, testing and deployment of new technologies
* Implement automation using scripting and deployment tools
* Manage patching, changes and deployments with minimal disruption
* Provide hardware support and liaise with vendors for fault resolution
* Act as an escalation point for complex service issues
* Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing and process improvement
* Support project delivery and ongoing service improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
* Experience in a busy IT or service operations environment
* Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP)
* Understanding of secure protocols (IPsec, SSH, TLS)
* Linux systems administration experience
* Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
* Experience with containerised environments (e.g. Docker)
* Scripting ability (Python, Bash or similar)
* Knowledge of monitoring and security tooling
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
* Experience with SIEM tools (e.g. Splunk)
* Familiarity with VMware, Veeam or virtualisation platforms
* Knowledge of Ansible, CI/CD or automation tooling
* Experience with VoIP / SIP technologies
* Understanding of cryptographic systems

Qualifications & Eligibility
* Have relevant experience in IT, Networking or Infrastructure Engineering; and,
* Be a British citizen; and
* Hold or be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (NSV) - DV level clearance.
