AustralianSuper, the largest pension fund in Australia and listed as a top 20 largest pension fund globally, are recruiting a new role, Manager, Internal Audit based in London. The Manager, Internal Audit is a key member of the expanding global AustralianSuper internal audit team and will play a leading role in delivering core elements of the annual Global Internal Audit Plan. Purpose: The overall accountability is to enhance and protect organisational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. This is achieved by providing an independent, objective assurance and advisory service designed to add value and improve operations through evaluating and improving effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Internal Audit Supporting the Chief Audit Executive to report to the Chief Executive and the Chair - Finance and Audit Committee (FAC). Representing Internal Audit as part of the Three Lines of Accountability Model in the London office. Internal Audit Services Executing a range of internal audit services targeted to operations and risks including: Audits with a compliance, financial or operational performance improvement focus. Management requested services where business areas may request internal audit services, usually in response to an issue or an emerging risk. Internal Audit Plan Develop a risk-based global internal audit plan that considers risks and issues, including those identified by management, and submit the plan to the FAC for review and approval. Working with specialist functions to provide input into the global internal audit plan. Internal Audit Engagements Performing internal audit work contained in the approved global internal audit plan. Providing final audit reports to management of the area audited, the FAC and other relevant Committees. Findings and Action Plan Monitoring and Reporting Ensuring all Findings are uploaded to the GRC following completion of each audit report and Finding Owners are advised in a timely manner. Working with relevant Risk Partners throughout the business to monitor progress by management to implement internal audit and external audit Findings and Action Plans. Providing timely input for reporting including Management Committees, Board Committees and Board reporting (including UK and US Boards). Interaction with Line 1 and Line 2 Risk Partners Guiding and supporting peers and stakeholders to ensure effective operation of functional operational assurance programs. Methodology Utilising agreed methods and tools to produce quality, accurate and timely output that can be relied upon for cross functional assurance reference and reporting. Contributing to the development of technical standards and other supporting documentation to enable consistent design and implementation of the assurance processes across the Fund. Staying abreast of / providing advice, guidance and direction to AustralianSuper of emerging industry trends and practices in internal audit, risk and governance. Proficient technical knowledge of internal auditing standards, concepts and principles. Exceptional report writing skills. Exceptional planning and analytical skills. Sound knowledge of legislation and codes applicable to financial services in the UK. A high level of knowledge of risk management frameworks and risk management techniques. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures and developing and implementing new strategies. Diplomacy, high levels of initiative, self-control, self-confidence and flexibility. Curiosity to develop business acumen and fast strategic knowledge acquisition. A high level of negotiating and influencing skills. Ability to motivate others, promote teamwork and foster a co-operative work environment.
